On Monday, after multiple disruptions during a town hall event, Donald Trump abruptly stopped answering questions and spent nearly 40 minutes swaying onstage to a mix of different songs.
This strange behavior has raised more concerns about the mental state of the Republican nominee.
In recent weeks, Trump’s actions have been noticeably more erratic. He often gives confusing or irrelevant answers during interviews and tends to ramble, speaking in long, disorganized sentences.
He also canceled a second debate with Vice President Kamala Harris and has pulled out of several media interviews. According to Politico, one of Trump’s advisors cited exhaustion as a reason for canceling an interview earlier this week.
While age was considered a drawback for Democrats during President Biden’s campaign, it is now being used as an advantage.
In a recent speech, Bill Clinton, who lacks the youthful energy seen in his past convention appearances, acknowledged that he recently turned 78, joking, “I’m still younger than Donald Trump.”
Clinton is only about two months younger than Trump, and both of them are younger than President Biden. However, they belong to an older generation compared to Vice President Kamala Harris.
After Biden stepped aside, Hillary Clinton quickly endorsed Harris, backing her candidacy with the powerful support of one of the most influential families in Democratic politics.
Earlier this year, Clinton played a key role at a star-studded fundraiser in New York City for President Biden, along with former President Barack Obama, before Harris became the head of the ticket.
Both Bill and Hillary Clinton also had prime speaking roles at the Democratic National Convention.
During the event, Bill Clinton praised Harris, saying, “Kamala Harris is the only candidate in this race who has the vision, the experience, the temperament, the will, and yes — the sheer joy — to get something done.”
The former president then directed his remarks at Trump, saying, “Now, how does Donald Trump use his voice? Mostly, he talks about himself. The next time you hear him, don’t count the lies — count how many times he says ‘I’.”
Clinton humorously added, “He’s like one of those tenors warming up before a performance, singing, me, me, me, me, me.”
